About the Zodiac Dreaming Series

The Zodiac Dreaming Series provides symbolic illustrations of the 12 zodiac signs. Each illustration has a symbolic map that describes  the symbolic meaning.

Zodiac Dreaming began out of playful curiosity and a need to express myself.  Firstly I wanted to demonstrate visually the old saying a picture paints a thousand words. I wanted to create an artwork which was about teaching people to look deeper into pictures, environments, situations and other people, to read the meaning behind the paint to read colours, symbols, actions, the environment and ultimately themselves.

I believe I did this because I did not learn to read and write properly until the age of thirty. I had to get most of my information in other ways. Once I had learnt to read and write I realized that in fact I was reading people by the way they stand, the inflection in their voices, where they chose to live, the colours they liked, the environments they were comfortable in and the environments they were not comfortable in. People in general communicated and learnt in so many other ways all the time. Much later I realized I was in fact trying to understand what it is to be a human and how we live and learn.   Zodiac Dreaming is a reflection of my understanding of this.
